Derek McClure will be doing a workshop in realism in graphite drawing faces.
One of my guilty pleasures is flipping through old photo albums and spying the real expressions of people that have been captured on film. My aim is to bring to life through graphite, the quirky, humorous expressions that my brave subjects strive to keep hidden. I want my portraits to look real in a film-like way while maintaining the essence of the medium by which they have been created. “Ephemeral II” is an exhibition of graphite portraits that celebrates the fleeting nature of complex and dynamic human expressions.
