Artist Statement:
Delving deeper into my research into funerary arts, symbolism, and the concept of grief as an expression of love, I have looked to the cemeteries I have travelled to. Australia, Japan, United Kingdom, Ireland and Italy. Using the photos that I took of these sites I have made a collection of drawings focusing on monumental and unique headstones and funerary statues. These are my memories of places special to me, of structures made beautiful through grief.
